Search query as a tab

I want to create a series of pull downs on a tab that allow users to do simple, specific searches. Is that possible?

Re: Search query as a tab

Will the searches be the same, every time? Or will they need a variable?

If the searches will be static, then you can use the advanced search dialogue to create a search query. Then you can use that as the link for your custom tab.

This has given me a few ideas. http://bit.ly/10viGw Thanks...

Re: Search query as a tab

Hey Alan...  I work with Mitch so don't give him too much of an ego boost by citing him in your blog.

I am trying to refine a couple of searches we have set up in some tabs by searching for multiple entries of different names, but I cannot find any kind of search parameter separators that would return a search.  For example, say we want to search for THISFILE.doc and THATFILE.doc in the same search.  Is there a way to include that in the search phrase field so that it would return both?  Usually a comma would be enough to separate them but I cannot get a successful search return using either a comma or semicolon.  Any ideas?

I then want to make a tab with those parameters.

Re: Search query as a tab

The two separators are the comma (OR), and "AND", which will search for items with both strings.
